As a kid, she was consistently described as one who had her head in the clouds. Jacey was far away imagining all sorts of fantastical things; dragons soaring in the sky, a witch blasting a fireball in the grocery store, a werewolf coming to eat the gym teacher, the coffee barista is actually a vampire, etc.
She found something alluring about supernatural beings existing in our often mundane world; whether they are being subjected to the same life we are or are wreaking havoc for any reason.
In fact, she mostly hated English classes. The books they read were boring, the book theory even more so, poetry was supposed to be personal interpretation however interpretation was based on the teacher’s view, she hated writing essays…
Jacey even got in trouble in grade six because she didn’t put periods in her work. Sentence structure was correct, but if the sentence ended in a period she tended not to input it.
Jacey is now a mom to a daughter and son.
In the winter everything is covered in a white blanket of snow and can get to -30 degrees. So, she and her family tend to stay cozy inside watching movies, doing projects/renovations around the house, playing video games, and playing whatever the kids want to play.If they get the itching to go outside, they bundle up and go into their yard. They love the snow, but not the cold so they don’t tend to stay out there long.
In the summer, they get out of the house more.Jacey usually buys annual zoo passes, so they can go whenever we wanted (and save on money). She has found that it’s hard to find a lot to do with children that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg, can keep their attention for more than an hour, or doesn’t leave them so overstimulated you question why you
did it for the rest of the day.
